Hi, I’m Hiba, and welcome to my blog!
Let me start by saying I have a diverse, food loving palette! I migrated and settled in the US after spending nearly a quarter century exposing and challenging my taste buds in the up and coming food scene of the melting pot city of Dubai. My Pakistani origins still manage to shine through my Middle Eastern upbringing though. I love culture, color and heritage and the various flavors it brings.
This blog came about to document, journal and share with you the culinary flavor experiences I’v had during my travels, and the inspiration behind my many kitchen experiments recreating them – with my own “healthified” twist. Here, I’m sharing with you recipes, ideas and life hacks that I’ve tested and incorporated to bring about healthy changes to my own life.
Being a physician in the nonclinical arena of medical and science writing, I have always been a proponent of healthy living. I truly believe in feeding your mind, body and soul the right nutrients for a balanced healthy life. My search for answers to all my nutrition based questions, led me to earn a Masters certificate in Nutritional Science from Stanford University. In doing so, I’v realized that Hippocrates was 100% right saying “Let food be thy Medicine.” Our spice racks, fridges and pantries are filled with holistic nutritional supplements – if only we see it!
My posts are well researched and screened to give accurate information to aid in a healthy lifestyle. However, please do not use as a replacement to medical advice and do seek medical assistance if there is a specific health concern. With that said, I hope to give you some inspiration for your healthy changes one plate at a time.
